Retired Merchant Dies at Home in Newcomerstown. William S. Hinds, retired
Newcomerstown merchant, died at 5pm Friday at his home, 144 Neighbor st.
Newcomerstown, following a paralytic stroke which he suffered Wednesday. He was
72. Mr. Hinds was born Sept. 23, 1866, on a farm in Adams township, Coshocton
county, a son of Elias and Susan Hinds. He was a member of the Newcomerstown M.
P. church and the Macabee lodge. 

Surviving are his widow, Cora Swigert Hinds; a daughter, Mrs. Ina Lowry of
Columbus; a son, Ernest Hinds of Zephyrhills, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Rhoda
Stonebrook of New Philadelphia and Mrs. Eva hart of Zephyrhills, Fla., and a
granddaughter, Jean Ann Lowry of Columbus. Funeral services will be at 2pm
Monday at the home, 144 Neighbor st. Newcomerstown, Rev. J. Cecil Cottrell, M.
P. pastor will officiate, assisted by Rev. George Shurtz of Orange. Burial will
be in West Lawn cemetery at Newcomerstown.
