Mrs. William Schmaltz of St. Joe and her sister, Mrs Edith Price
of Tampa, Fla. were in Troy the first of the week in the interest of
the estate of their father the late John Roberts.

Mr. and Mrs. W. Schmaltz of St. Joseph are making extensive repairs
on what is known as the Wagmiller(sic) house north of town. Mrs. Schmaltz
who was Miss Bessie R. Roberts, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Roberts was reared in that community and they are glad to be returning
home. They expect to move into the home about the middle of March.

Mrs. William Schmaltz of Troy received word Sunday of the death of her aunt,
Mrs. Lucetia Hamilton,wife of the late C. H. Hamilton at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Rodgers Garner in St. Louis. She had been in poor health a
number of years.
Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Deaver and was born
and reared here. Mrs. Garner is the only child. Burial was in St. Louis.

Mrs. William Schmaltz and Miss Alma Dittemore attended the Dittemore reunion
near St. Joseph Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Loroff Dittemore and two daughters who have been visiting
relatives and friends in this community, left for their home in Long Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Dittemore were raised and attended school here.

William Schmaltz was seriously injured at his country home northwest of Troy
when he fell from an 18 foot ladder while doing some repair work on a barn. He
was taken to a St. Joe hospital where it was found he had broken a leg, one
foot injured and severe bruises and cuts on his face and head, Mr. and Mrs.
Schmaltz just moved to their country home this summer and have been doing
extensive remodeling to their home. They have lived in St. Joe many years.

William Schmaltz, who suffered a fall at his home near Troy about a month
ago, was in St. Joe Monday where the cast was removed from his leg. With the
aid of crutches he is expected to be around in a short time.

Mrs. William Schmaltz and Mr. and Mrs. L. O. Hathaway drove to Weston, Mo.,
Saturday to spend some time watching the grading and selling of tobacco. Mrs
Schmaltz hda(sic) some tobacco on the market. The Schmatlz have a five acre
allotment of tobacco and it is raised and cared for by Paul Harter. Mr. Harter
has raised tobacco on this farm a number of years for the late John Roberts
who was the father of Mrs. Schmaltz.
