WIFE OF KAPAPALA RANCH MANAGER DEAD
(From Saturdays Advertiser [March 4].)Death came suddenly yesterday morning
[March 3] to Mrs. Julian Monsarrat [nee Clarissa Amoy Coney], wife of the
manager of the Kapalala ranch, Hawaii, who was here to witness the doings of
carnival and Shriners week. She had been suffering for some time of diabetes
but nothing serious was feared until the disease was aggravated by a severe
attack of ptomaine poisoning for which she was taken for treatment to the
Johnson sanatorium. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon [March
5] at half-past two, at St. Andrews [Cathedral, Honolulu, Hawaii].
Mrs. Monsarrat was a daughter of Mrs. L[aura] A[moy] Coney of Honolulu. She
leaves surviving her husband their only son [Melville] having been
accidentally killed in California a few years ago [1903] - three sisters, Mrs.
H[einrich] Renjes [nee Elizabeth Coney], Mrs. Hubert Vos [nee Eleanor Coney]
of New York and Mrs. Monroe [nee Mary S. Coney], and a
brother, Hon. J[ohn] H[arvey] Coney of Kauai. Her niece, Miss Anna Graham, is
